So this is the end of Week 2. Friday afternoon. Somehow I got today off since I covered for a girl at work. But unfortunately...I'm sick. Totally not fun. I've thankfully gotten the homework done, and even a little extra credit! (I guess being sick has an upside (only one upside, that is), and that's helping me get my homework done. Yay.
The reading this week was interesting for me, both good interesting and bad interesting. The story "Oroonoko" was somewhat hard for me to follow, given how it's written. I felt it was hard to follow because the sentences seemed to go on and on forever, with semicolon's and comma's to break it up a little bit. So that story wasn't too interesting for me. But on a positive note, from what I did understand from that story was how it seemed to test loyalty in the story, which I really liked.
I haven't taken an English classes for probably a few semesters so I'm trying to once again find my knack for writing/critiquing story's we read in this class. I find it's obviously mush easier to write about the readings when you really like what it's about and would have more to say once I get into the stories.
I found it interesting to learn about a few fellow students, why they're here, where they want to go, and what they like to do. I feel we can all relate in some way, especially since we're all taking this class together.
I'm not taking any other classes, so thankfully I don't have to worry about that. I only work and have this class, so it's just trying to find that balance of working and finding time to read the material and do the homework. Going in to the next week, my plans are to get a little more ahead of things and get the readings done early in the week so that way I can focus on the writing assignments.
